Boating Adventures in Central, South Carolina

First!!! here’s some photos via the iPhone…

I’ve finally found a few days to get out of the NC with a few old friends and go boating for a few days. It’s really been a battle against nature the whole time. Let me explain.

    Day 1

We leave for the SC and get through Charlotte and into SC pretty well, no issues or anything. Around 4:50 the rain begins, and man did it rain and then this poor guy on his motorcycle got stuck in the rain and we felt awful for him. At this point it was nature 1 us 0. I am keeping score this trip.

We arrive to our destination around 5:50, so this pulls the score up to nature 1 us 1. When we are about 30 seconds away i put my head out the window and my hat blows off, we have to go back and get it. nature 2 us 1. So we pull up and we eat dinner which was excellent. Were staying at my friends grandparents place which is good. They’re super nice people and seem to enjoy having us teens around. Around 8 o’clock we decide to go canoeing. Here’s how that unfolded in a picture.

So after that utter fiasco we went back to house and watched Marley and Me. Which is a terrible movie because I cried my eyes out and it was depressing. But it was actually great because I cried my eyes out, but still don’t watch it because it’s awful in that sense.

    Day 2

So we headed out to boat that morning which was great fun and awesome and yada ya ya, you get it. We came back and watched I am Sam which is also depressing, and made me cry. More failing there. We watched Legally Blonde after that and it was so incredibly stupid. Don’t get me wrong it was funny, but man was it stupid. Another fail as well.

We went out on the boat again that night and it was so cool that it sucked to get out of the water and back into the boat. But we did it anyway and told nature to suck it. Nature 3 Us 2. We got back around 9 and at brownies and ice cream and finished legally blonde. At 10:30, the guys went over to WalMart and the girls started watching 27 Dresses. I got some sour patch kids and some peanut butter cups, oh and a life water too (which tasted like butt) Then we came back talked a while and went to bed.

    Day 3

We’ve been on the boat again today and our boat blew up.

    EPIC. FAIL .

We put out the fire from the engine as I frantically asked Hannah over and over “uh….should we jump off the boat since it’s exploding?” She was like “just hold on!” In the end we saved the boat from utter destruction.

    Nature 3 Us 3.

Now were watching ANOTHER movie, Oceans Eleven. I’m writing this blog instead and not paying any attention. Here some photos….

    New Beginnings.

I love new beginings! I love the feeling of a fresh start, a blank slate, even when it kind of occurs by accident in the same way this one did. I was going to move my blog over to movable type and in the process deleted my wordpress files, accidently. I lost everything, and that’s okay!

This new start will be another one of my many new starts, but maybe that isn’t a bad thing? It’s good to know that we can always start over and that some of us do it more than others. I happen to be one of these people and find it a quality i particularly like about myself. So it’s all good here for now on that.

Summer is finally underway! I haven’t done much so far, but I am going to South Carolina for a few days with four of my friends and I’m really excited about doing that. Were going to go boating and hang out in Central, SC near Southern Wesleyan University. I want to take a little bit of time while I’m there to take some photographs, hopefully on some film. I’ve missed shooting film, it’s such a wonderful medium and I’ve been inspired to jump back on the film train again.

    I’m in a great place.

currently listening to: Train Song by Feist and Ben Gibbard from Dark Was the Night.
